The Georgia Bulldogs are among the favorites to win the SEC championship and return to the College Football Playoff. CBS Sports' Brad Crawford puts Georgia in the "clear frontrunner" tier of playoff contenders along with Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon and Miami.
Georgia has made the playoff in both years of the 12-team era. However, the Bulldogs have gone 0-2 with Georgia losing both games in the Sugar Bowl with Gunner Stockton starting at quarterback. Crawford notes that Stockton "gets a redo opportunity of sorts as a senior" as Georgia looks to win in the playoff after winning back-to-back SEC titles.
Georgia has an advantageous schedules, which should help the Bulldogs return to the playoff. ESPN rates Georgia's schedule as the easiest in the SEC and CBS agrees that Georgia's schedule isn't too challenging. Georgia only plays three teams in CBS' latest top-25.
Georgia is certainly a contender to make the playoff and advance to the national championship. The Bulldogs will need to play their best football at the end of the season and stay healthy as Georgia hopes to bring home another title. CBS' playoff tiers reflect the national championship odds with Indiana being the only team in a tier below Georgia that has better title odds than Georgia.
