MADISON – The Wisconsin Badgers continued to stock their offense on Day 7 of the transfer portal.
According to ESPN, the Badgers secured a commitment from former Louisville quarterback Deuce Adams on Jan. 8. He is the third commitment of the day and joins running back Nate Palmer as new pieces for the offense.
Here is what you need to know about Adams.
How many yards did Deuce Adams throw for this season?
Adams played in six games and completed 15 of 21 passes for 112 yards. He didn’t have a touchdown or an interception. He also had 14 carries for 33 yards with a long run of 11 yards.
Adams started against SMU on Nov. 22. He completed 12 of 17 passes for 94 yards in a 38-6 loss on the road.
What are Deuce Adams height and weight?
Adams is listed as 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds on the Louisville roster.
How many years of eligibility does Deuce Adams have left?
Adams took a redshirt year and 2024 and has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
What was Deuce Adams’ recruiting rating?
Adams received a three-star recruiting rating from Rivals and 247sports as both a high school and transfer portal recruit. 247sports listed him as the No. 34 QB in the class and the No. 81 overall recruit in Texas. He went to Vandegrift High School in Austin.
How can Deuce Adams help the Wisconsin Badgers?
Colton Joseph will be the Badgers’ No. 1 QB, but Adams will battle redshirt freshman Carter Smith to be the top backup. That role will be key given UW’s history of injuries at the position as well as the added risk of having a dual-threat quarterback.
Danny O’Neil, the top backup last season, is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury and won’t be back until the start of fall camp at the earliest, so Adams has a chance to come in and perhaps carve out a role for himself this season and beyond.
