The Colorado State football coach has a long biography filled with coaching stops around the country.

Jim Mora Jr. has coached up and down the West Coast, in the South and is coming to the Rams from the east at UConn.

Mora has been in the NFL and college football and even spent time as a kid growing up in Colorado.

He has a famous family in coaching, too. His dad (also Jim Mora) coached for decades, including 1998-2001 as the Indianapolis Colts coach (where former CSU coach Jay Norvell was on his staff).

His time with Colts included the famous playoff rant: "Playoffs? Don't talk about—playoffs?! You kidding me? Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game! Another game!"

If CSU is talking playoffs with Mora Jr., the hire will be a booming success.

Here's a look at the resume for Jim Mora Jr.

Jim Mora Jr. at UConn

UConn had nine total wins in the five seasons (9-50) before Mora Jr. took over. He had the Huskies bowl eligible his first season and UConn made a bowl in three of his four seasons.

Mora went 27-23 at UConn and the Huskies are 9-3 this season.

UConn's offense is 15th in the nation in scoring at 36.9 points per game, 18th in yards per game (459.5) and eighth in passing yards per game (300.5).

Jim Mora Jr. at UCLA

CSU is joining the rebuild of the Pac-12 ahead of the 2026 season. It may not be the same iteration, but Mora Jr. is quite familiar with the Pac-12.

He coached in the league at UCLA from 2012-17, going 46-30 overall with the Bruins. His teams were ranked in the top 25 at one point in every season. He went 28-25 in Pac-12 games.

After going 29–11 through the first three seasons, he was 17–19 in the last three seasons at UCLA.
