When Ty Simpson saw Tyler Booker on the field after Alabama football’s 20-9 win against LSU Saturday, Nov. 8, the Crimson Tide quarterback broke into a sprint.

Booker, the former Alabama All-American offensive lineman, and Simpson jumped into each other’s arms before being dapping up and hugging again.

“It was great,” Simpson said. “I hadn’t seen him since the draft. He’s gotten a little slimmer. He used to be a big fat boy. It was great to see him. That’s my best friend.”

Booker attended Alabama-LSU along with former Alabama offensive linemen Darrian Dalcourt and JC Latham.

Booker was selected with the No. 12 overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Simpson attended the draft with Booker as Alabama secured two first-round picks. Linebacker Jihaad Campbell was selected with the No. 31 pick of the draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

And as Simpson reflected on Alabama’s win against LSU, he had no doubt where Booker would be.

“I’m sure Book’s sitting in my house right now in my recliner even though I told him he shouldn’t be sitting there,” Simpson said.

Alabama will take on Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 15 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
