With several marquee matchups already in the books, the new college football season has been well and truly christened.
The day kicked off with defending national champion Indiana taking down North Texas 52-16, with Josh Hoover throwing for four touchdowns in his Hoosier debut. Jeremiah Smith and Julian Sayin also kicked off their respective Heisman Trophy campaigns in No. 1 Ohio State's onslaught win over Ball State.
Saturday's slate of games came to a close with Lane Kiffin and No. 13 LSU winning the "Battle of Death Valley" against Clemson in Baton Rouge, 51-10, behind a three-touchdown day from Arizona State quarterback transfer Sam Leavitt.
Elsewhere, No. 16 Michigan managed to come from behind to beat Western Michigan 13-12 thanks to a controversial final second — one that resulted in a last-second Hail Mary for the Wolverines.
That said, and before one can see how those wins — and more importantly those losses — are reflected in the latest top 25 polls, there are still four games to be played on the Labor Day Weekend. Here's when both the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll are released for Week 2 of the college football season:
When do college football top 25 polls come out for Week 2?
Both major college football polls — the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 poll — will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 8 ahead of Week 2 of the college football season.
Traditionally, both polls get released every Sunday during the season, but with three games set for Sunday and another on Labor Day, the polls have a delayed release for this week. The Coaches Poll will be released between noon ET and 12:30 p.m. ET on the day of its release, with the AP poll following in suit around 2 p.m. ET.
