It's March. College football programs around the country are breaking out the pads and buckling chin straps. Spring practice is here. Spring practice gives us our first taste of football, and reminds us the season is inching closer.
Lane Kiffin and LSU football are gearing up to hit the field, with spring practice begining on March 24.
There are plenty of fresh faces in the LSU football building, on the coaching staff, and on the field. Kiffin remodeled LSU's entire offensive staff, bringing a handful of assistants from Ole Miss, including offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.
With the coaching transition, the bulk of LSU's offensive production from 2025 declared for the draft or hit the transfer portal. LSU's wide receiver room only returns one Tiger who caught a pass in Baton Rouge last year. And that's Phillip Wright, who had a single reception to his name.
Typically, LSU finishes spring practice with some sort of spring game or event for the fans. LSU is yet to announce any plans for 2026. Kiffin was not a proponent of typical spring games at Ole Miss.
