When do the Oklahoma Sooners bring spring football practice?

The Oklahoma Sooners have been working in winter workouts to build on their College Football Playoff appearance in 2025. After winter workouts come spring football. The first opportunity for the coaches to see the 2026 Sooners on the football field. According to Pete Nakos of On3, the Sooners will begin spring practice on March 9.
Oklahoma will conclude spring football with the return of the spring game, which will be held on April 18 at noon.
NCAA football teams are allowed to hold 15 practices during a 34-day window. 12 of those practices can be contact practices, and eight can include live tackling.
The Sooners made a number of key additions on both sides of the ball during the transfer portal and in the 2026 recruiting class. Players like Trell Harris, Parker Livingstone, E'Marion Harris, Cole Sullivan, Hayden Hansen, Rocky Beers, and Kenny Ozowalu are expected to make an immediate impact. Even 2026 signees like defensive end Jake Kreul, running back Jonathan Hatton, and wide receiver Jayden Petit could work their way into playing time as true freshmen.
It's an exciting time for Oklahoma football, who answered a lot of questions with their playoff appearance last fall. Now is the opportunity to build on it.
