OXFORD − The date for LSU coach Lane Kiffin’s return to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium has been set.

Ole Miss football will host LSU in Week 3 on Sept. 19 in 2026, it was announced Dec. 11. The game was announced as part of the SEC’s 2026 schedule reveal.

The game is sure to be compelling. The crowd at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is likely to be hostile.

Kiffin left Ole Miss for LSU on Nov. 30. After weeks of remaining hesitant to commit, Kiffin left for the job after Ole Miss finished the regular season with a 38-19 win in the Egg Bowl.

Pete Golding, Kiffin’s permanent replacement, will lead Ole Miss in the game.

It was an unusual end to an impressive partnership. Kiffin was at Ole Miss for six seasons and led the Rebels to remarkable success. He led Ole Miss to a bowl game in each of his six seasons and had double-digit wins in four seasons.

Ole Miss is in the middle of its best season in school history. Ole Miss (11-1) hosts Tulane (11-2) on Dec. 20 (2:30 p.m., TNT).
