As expected, the Alabama Crimson Tide's 2026 roster has essentially been reshaped over the last couple of weeks, with the NCAA transfer portal a significant reason as to why.

In the portal alone, Alabama lost over of 20 players to transfer during the now closed window, a group that featured some prominent starters from the 2025 season such as Isaiah Horton, James Smith, and Wilkin Formby.

However, during that same window, there were also over 15 players who announced their commitments to Alabama, and as a result, will now suit up for the Crimson Tide next season. Among those were a few prominent names, a list which was headlined by Oregon defensive lineman Terrance Green, USC defensive lineman Devan Thompkins, and NC State wide receiver Noah Rogers.

When taking an overall look at the SEC, as well as college football overall, during the transfer portal cycle, where is that Crimson Tide class currently ranked?

Per the 247Sports Transfer Team Rankings, Alabama's 2026 portal class is currently ranked at No. 16 nationally, as well as No. 7 in the SEC, with 16 total commitments as of Tuesday, Jan. 27.

According to 247Sports, Alabama has also landed four four-star transfers, as well as 12 three-stars. The Crimson Tide boast an average transfer player rating of 87.81 as well, a number which ranks fifth-best in the SEC, as well as No. 10 highest nationally.

Regardless of whether or not they continue to add to the group, it's clear that Alabama's transfer class will make an impact next season, and should feature some of the SEC's top newcomers.
