Arkansas football is hoping for a late flurry of commits that improves its standing in the national and SEC recruiting rankings.
Ryan Silverfield was named head coach of the Razorbacks on Sunday, Nov. 30, giving him roughly 60 hours before the early signing period begins later this week.
Before last year, Arkansas had signed a top-30 class in six consecutive cycles. The 2025 class ranked No. 33.
This year’s class has some work to do before in order to reach that mark.
Arkansas football recruiting rankings
The 247Sports Composite has Arkansas No. 14 in the SEC and No. 54 overall. Rivals ranks the Hogs last in the conference, but 52nd nationally.
Arkansas was outside of the top-70 before Silverfield’s hire. The Razorbacks made a noticeable leap by landing three in-state commits on Monday, Dec. 1. They now have three of the top-five ranked recruits out of Arkansas.
The class should improve in the coming days, with Silverfield gunning for more in-state commitments.
Arkansas football recruiting class top commits
The top-ranked commit is defensive lineman Danny Beale from Cross County, who committed to the Razorbacks on Monday.
Beale is the top player in the state of Arkansas, the No. 17 defensive lineman in the country and the 160th-ranked player overall. Committed to Oklahoma State over the summer, the four-star backed off that pledge following the Cowboys’ firing of Mike Gundy. He also had scholarship offers from SEC rivals like Missouri, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Georgia.
The second-highest ranked commit is another pledge from earlier this week. Bryant running back Terry Hodges flipped from Missouri to Arkansas. The four-star prospect is ranked No. 3 in the state, No. 354 nationally and No. 26 among all running backs.
