Where did departing Syracuse Football players land in the portal?

The Syracuse Orange football squad had 28 players enter the transfer portal last month, so we decided it would make sense to look at where those players have landed as schools begin the spring semester.
Four players are headed to SEC schools: Darrell Gill and Johntay Cook to Ole Miss (to be joined by briefly Orange Michael Smith), Kaylib Singleton signed with Mississippi State and Ethan Stangle settled for Alabama.
Two former Orange headed to B10 schools: Ibn McDaniels at Penn State and Jayln Hornsby to Purdue, while Derek McDonald will be staying in the ACC at North Carolina
Former Orange coach Nunzio Campanile was able to bring Jaden Hart and Emmanuel Ross with him to UConn so Syracuse is going to see at least three former players on the opposing sideline in 2026.

Eight players have not been officially listed with a new school. Players who entered the portal are still free to sign with schools, but it’s unclear if any of them remain enrolled at Syracuse at this point. The Orange already had Umari Hatcher return after initially entering the portal.
We’ll keep an eye on any other movement. While the NCAA has removed the spring portal period for football, the number of court cases challenging eligibility would indicate that someone will challenge that restriction.
Are you surprised by any of the transfer destinations for these players?
