Texas A&M baseball (31–7, 12–5 SEC) pushed its winning streak to six games after a perfect 4–0 week, taking down Houston before sweeping LSU in a dominant weekend series.

After opening SEC play 2–4, the Aggies have flipped the script, winning 10 of their last 11 and climbing to second place in the conference standings. They have already surpassed both their overall and SEC win totals from last season with 15 regular‑season games still remaining. There’s plenty of baseball left, but A&M has positioned itself firmly in the postseason conversation.

At this point, barring an epic collapse, the Aggies are tracking toward a postseason berth and are very much in the mix to host a regional if they close strong. The offense continues to carry the load, and the pitching staff has taken noticeable steps forward in recent weeks and the metrics back it up. Opponents typically need to score six or more runs just to have a chance, as A&M’s bats consistently provide enough cushion for the staff to work through rough patches.

The road ahead won’t be easy, the back half of the SEC slate is loaded, but the turnaround under second‑year head coach Michael Earley has been one of the league’s biggest storylines. After entering the 2026 campaign on the hot seat and stumbling early in conference play, Earley has the Aggies outperforming every preseason expectation. A team picked to finish near the bottom of the SEC is now surging toward the postseason, putting Earley squarely in the SEC Coach of the Year conversation.

If A&M continues on this trajectory, the 2026 season could become one of the program’s most impressive turnarounds in recent memory.
