AUBURN — Chalk it up to a coaching change or the newfound circumstance of revenue sharing nationwide, but whatever the case, Auburn football‘s latest recruiting class looks unlike it has for much of the recruiting site era.
National Signing Day wrapped the 2026 recruiting cycle Wednesday, Feb. 4, and Auburn made one last addition to its signing class in punter Max Bourke. Beyond him, the Tigers stood firm, totaling 21 signees from the high school and junior college ranks.
It’s a bunch that was cobbled together days into head coach Alex Golesh‘s hiring, but based on the national rankings, Auburn’s latest class isn’t held in the same regard as past seasons.
Where does Auburn football’s 2026 signing class rank?
- 247: No. 31 (No. 13 SEC)
- On3: No. 40 (No. 14 SEC)
From the early signing period to February, Auburn’s class rose in the national rankings, though it largely stood firm, finishing as a top-40 class nationally while sitting in the cellar of the SEC.
Auburn signaled, even before Hugh Freeze’s firing, that it may be changing its strategies of high school recruiting in a revenue-sharing world and focus on the transfer portal, but based on 247Sports’ composite ratings, this is the lowest-ranked class Auburn has signed in the recruiting site era and just the second non-top-25 bunch.
