The Wisconsin Badgers are scheduled to begin hosting official visits next week, as around 30 recruits will be making their way to campus over the next few weeks.

Wisconsin has had a strong start in the 2027 class, primarily due to its in-state recruiting efforts, but there are still a number of recruits they’re looking to close on as the summer begins.

Before the frenzy begins, where does Wisconsin’s recruiting class rank in the country?

With 13 commits, the Badgers have the No. 17 overall class in the nation, according to 247Sports. On3 has them with the No. 24 class right now.

Of Wisconsin’s 13 commits, there are five who are four-star commits in either the 247 rankings or the Composite rankings. Four-star running back Kingston Allen, considered a top-10 running back and the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin, leads the way for the Badgers.

Behind him, four-star tight end Korz Loken, seen as a top-10 tight end and the No. 2 player in Wisconsin, is also one of the best players in the country. Four-star offensive lineman Cole Reiter was a key addition back in March. And quarterback Jack Sorgi and Hunter Mallinger are both four-star recruits on the Composite rankings.

Currently, Wisconsin’s class is ranked ninth in the Big Ten behind UCLA, USC, Penn State, Ohio State, Washington, Oregon, Minnesota, and Michigan. Now, in that group, only Ohio State, Oregon, and Michigan have fewer commits than the Badgers.

After posting top-30 classes in both 2024 and 2025, the Badgers had a much lighter 2026 class, headlined by a lot of flips, as they took only 13 players in the cycle. That group ended up as the No. 61 class in the country last year.

Now, head coach Luke Fickell and his staff are looking to get back into that top-30 range, and it’ll come down to how the Badgers fare in June, with their additional resources already starting to pay off.
