Prior to this season, Iowa football hadn't hosted ESPN's "College GameDay" in 20 years — an oddly long drought for a program that's been successful for many of those intervening years.
But get ready to party like it's 2006, Hawkeyes, because to quote a popular song from that era, it's goin' down.

Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the "GameDay" crew are headed to Iowa City this weekend for No. 14 Iowa's game against No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Kinnick Stadium during Week 5 of the 2026 season.
The Hawkeyes are coming off a thrilling 20-19 win against then-No. 18 Michigan in Week 4, a game in which Hank Brown finished off an 11-play, 91-yard drive with a perfectly placed 16-yard touchdown pass to Reece Vander Zee in the corner of the end zone with no time remaining.
They'll look to build on the momentum of their biggest victory of the season against Ohio State, which is coming off a 23-point win last Saturday against Illinois. In that victory, Buckeyes superstar wideout Jeremiah Smith caught 12 passes for 217 yards and four touchdowns.
It will be just the third time ever that Iowa has hosted "GameDay." Saturday will mark the first time this season that "GameDay" has traveled to a school outside of the SEC.
