LSU football's 2027 recruiting class is one of the best in the country. Lane Kiffin and the Tigers hope to finish with a top-five national ranking as LSU recruits at the top of the market.
Perhaps the most important piece of LSU's talented class is quarterback Peyton Houston. The Louisiana quarterback isn't the highest-ranked recruit in the class, though he's up there. Still, quarterback is a premium position and even in the age of the transfer portal, it's a good idea to sign a talented passer out of high school.
Where does Houston rank in the thick of the 2027 recruiting cycle? The Rivals Industry Rankings slot Houston as the No. 100 overall prospect, No. 8 quarterback, and No. 5 in the state of Louisiana.
ESPN is the highest on Houston, ranking him as the No. 84 player in the class and No. 2 dual-threat quarterback. It's a strong year for quarterbacks in the state of Louisiana. Three of the top 10 players in the state are QBs. Elijah Haven, a Baton Rouge native, is the No. 16 player in the class. Malachi Zeigler, committed to SMU, is the No. 300 recruit in the class and No. 10 in the state of Louisiana.
