Where LSU football ranks in US LBM Coaches Poll after Clemson beatdown

LSU football was ranked No. 8 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday. The Tigers jump after a dominant 51-10 win over Clemson in Week 1. LSU's up five spots after opening the season at No. 13.
Ohio State remained No. 1 in the poll. Georgia and Texas rounded out the top two. Georgia and Texas are the only two teams ahead of LSU as the Tigers jumped a handful of SEC teams, including Texas A&M and Ole Miss.
LSU fired on all cylinders in Week 1. Blake Baker's defense played the best game of Baker's tenure. LSU's defense allowed three points thanks to an LSU interception giving Clemson the ball on LSU's side of the field, but after that, LSU didn't let Clemson cross the 50 until the backups were in.
On offense, LSU established the run early. Running back Dilin Jones and quarterback Sam Leavitt both surpassed the 100 yard mark on the ground. Transfers made big impacts across the offense as receiver Winston Watkins surpassed 100 yards and scored a touchdown. Left tackle Jordan Seaton won the SEC's Offensive Lineman of the Week award.
Next up for LSU is a home date vs. Louisiana Tech on Saturday night. LSU looks to handle business vs. the Bulldogs before turning its attention to Ole Miss in Week 3.
