Vanderbilt football moved up one spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll to No. 13 after its off week.
The Commodores (8-2, 4-2 SEC) most recently defeated Auburn in overtime on Nov. 8. They will next host Kentucky (5-5, 2-5) at FirstBank Stadium on Nov. 22 (2:30 p.m. CT, ESPN).
With Vanderbilt not playing this week, its movement depended on others. The Commodores were previously ranked seventh among SEC teams but are now ranked sixth after Texas’ loss to Georgia. An Oklahoma win over Alabama, however, kept both teams ahead of Vanderbilt.
Other teams that were previously ranked ahead of the Commodores and are competitors for a potential College Football Playoff spot, including Notre Dame, BYU and Georgia Tech, remained ranked ahead.
Vanderbilt was No. 14 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings released Nov. 11. The next rankings will come out on Nov. 18.
