Which Commanders' offensive lineman will make the 53-man roster?

Yes, the NFL changes from year to year; as a result, each team changes several roster spots. With much talk going toward the Washington Commanders’ offensive line, there is much speculation about who the Commanders will keep on their 53-man roster.

Roster cutdown day is Sunday, August 30. The Commanders typically keep nine offensive linemen. If the Commanders keep nine again this season, who would be your nine Commanders up front? Having 90 players currently, this means 37 players will be released, bringing the roster to 53. Then the Commanders can bring back 16 players to their practice squad.

Let’s take a look at which Commanders offensive linemen made the 53-man roster in 2024 and 2025:

2024 Commanders Offensive Linemen to make the 53-man roster:

  • Tyler Biadasz (Center)
  • Nick Allegretti (Guard)
  • Sam Cosmi (Guard)
  • Cornelius Lucas (Tackle)
  • Andrew Wylie (Tackle)
  • Brandon Coleman (Tackle)
  • Michael Deiter (Center/Guard)
  • Chris Paul (Guard)
  • Trent Scott (Tackle)

2025 Commanders Offensive Linemen to make the 53-man roster:

  • Laremy Tunsil (Tackle)
  • Brandon Coleman (Guard/ Tackle)
  • Tyler Biadasz (Center)
  • Andrew Wylie (Guard / Tackle)
  • Josh Conerly, Jr (Tackle)
  • Nick Allegretti (Guard)
  • Chris Paul (Guard)
  • Trent Scott (Tackle)
  • George Fant (Tackle)
  • One note to recall is that Sam Cosmi started the year on the PUP list, then was on IR for the first four weeks before joining the 53-man roster

Current offensive linemen on the 90-man roster:

  • Centers: Nick Allegretti, Matt Gulbin, Julian Good-Jones, Trey Hill
  • Guards: Sam Cosmi, Chris Paul, Max Scharping, Tanoa Togiai
  • Tackles: Brandon Coleman, Josh Conerly Jr, D.J. Humphries, Nicholas Petit-Frere, Trent Scott, Laremy Tunsil, Andrew Wylie

The Commanders have not yet put Laremy Tunsil on injured reserve, which means they may plan to keep him on the 53 initially, then place him on injured reserve to bring him back if/when he is ready late in the season.

Coleman, Wylie and Scott can play both tackle and guard.

We will have our final 53-man roster projection on Saturday morning, after Washington’s preseason finale against the Ravens.
