Memphis will host Arkansas State on Saturday for its home opener in the newly renovated Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The Tigers are coming of a week zero win over UNLV, and the program is expecting a great crowd on Saturday.
While it could be close to a sellout on Saturday, the Tigers will be hosting numerous recruits for game visits. Most of the prospects are from the class of 2028, 2029 and 2030, and it will give Memphis an opportunity to make an impression on players early in their recruitment process.
Here’s a look at who will be at Saturday’s game.
2028 WR/RB Ja’myis Chapple (Lithonia, GA)
Ja’myis Chapple is a 2028 athlete from Lithonia, Georgia, who attends Martin Luther King Jr. High School. He holds offers from Georgia State and FIU, but he posted on X that he will be in attendance for Saturday’s game.

2030 OT Hudson Tarpley (Pulaski, TN)
Hudson Tarpley is a freshman offensive lineman at Richland School in Lynnville, Tennessee. He holds four offers, mainly from FCS programs, but it looks like his recruitment will pick up as he progresses through the high school ranks.
He’s already listed at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, and that size will be intriguing to college coaches. He was in Memphis for an unofficial visit in April, and he will return to the Bluff City to watch Saturday’s game in person.
2028 S Larry Hampton (Whitehaven High School)
Larry Hampton is a class of 2028 safety who attends Whitehaven High School in Memphis. The local prospect holds an offer from the Tigers and will be in attendance on Saturday.

Nate Brick is the second local quarterback that will be in attendance on Saturday. Brick is a class of 2029 quarterback for Christian Brothers High School.
He made several starts for the Purple Wave as a freshman, throwing for 417 yards and three touchdowns. He has started both games this season and threw for 386 yards and five touchdowns in a pair of wins.
JUCO CB Collin Flanigan (Holmes CC)
Collin Flanigan attended Oxford High School in Mississippi, but he’s attending Holmes Community College for his freshman season. In his first game at Holmes, he recorded 11 tackles, two tackles for loss and two pass breakups.
