BATON ROUGE — For the past couple of seasons, the production out of LSU football’s offensive line, especially in the run game, has been one of the biggest points of contention for Tiger fans.
LSU’s O-line has been littered with talent from a recruiting evaluation standpoint with a number of five-and four-star prospects. Couple that with some of the most sought-after offensive line in the transfer portal, the Tigers offensive line coach Brad Davis has had good players to work with in Baton Rouge.
Some of talent, most notably 2024 NFL Draft top 4 pick Will Campbell, has not translated to gamedays as LSU ranked last in the Southeastern in rushing offense in 2024, and this year, the team ranks 125th out of 134 in yards rushing per game at 101.

Here’s what to know about Davis.
How long has Brad Davis coached offensive line at LSU?
Davis has been on staff at LSU since 2021. He was a hire by former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron and was one of the only football staffers retained by also now former LSU head coach Brian Kelly when he Kelly hired in December of 2021.
No other LSU assistant coach has been on staff longer than Davis as he is in his fifth season at the team’s offensive line coach.
Brad Davis served as interim head coach for LSU
After LSU parted way with Orgeron following the conclusion of the 2021 regular season — technically the school fired him with a few games left on the schedule but he coached out the remainder of those games — the Tigers needed an interim coach for the Texas Bowl this year.
Davis was tabbed as the team’s interim for the bowl game against Kansas State. LSU lost to the Wildcats, 42-40. Wide receiver Jon’Tre Kirkland played quarterback for the Tigers in that game.
How much Brad Davis makes at LSU
This season, LSU is paying Davis $930,000 to coach the offensive line on an extension he signed in January 2024.
Davis is set for a pay raise this coming January as he’ll make $990,000 if he is still on staff.
