OXFORD — Ole Miss football has advanced in the College Football Playoff.

The Rebels beat Tulane 41-10 on Dec. 20 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in the first round of the CFP. It was the first time for both Ole Miss (12-1) and Tulane (11-3) in the CFP.

Ole Miss jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead. The Rebels received the opening kickoff and went on a three-play, 59-second drive to open the scoring. Tulane never mounted a serious charge to get back in the game.

Who does Ole Miss football play next in CFP?

It sets up a rematch in the CFP quarterfinals with No. 3 Georgia (12-1) on Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl (7 p.m., ESPN).
