New Year’s Day means the start of resolutions and a fresh beginning. It also means a day full of college football as you recover from a late night. Thursday is chock full of top-notch competition, with three College Football Playoff games taking place, starting at noon with Oregon facing Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl, followed by Indiana-Alabama in the Rose Bowl and Ole Miss-Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
Bowl games are always a to-do — look at the Pop Tarts Bowl in all its glory — but there’s something extra special about the festivities of the College Football Playoff games. The Orange Bowl is showcasing a new singer for the national anthem, but they’ll have a well-known act for their halftime show.
Rock band Third Eye Blind, known for hits like “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper” and “Never Let You Go,” will entertain the crowds at the Capital One Halftime Show. Fans can also check out artist Parmalee at pre-game Fan Fest.
Oregon-Texas Tech kicks off at noon and will be televised by ESPN.
