Now that the College Football Playoff bracket is cemented, it’s time to whittle down the field for the most prestigious individual award in college sports, the Heisman Trophy. The Finalists will be announced Monday evening on ESPN during Monday Night Countdown, which airs from 6-8 p.m. ET.
Among those still in the running are Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, running back Jeremiyah Love, quarterback Julian Sayin, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, and Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton.

Mendoza leads the pack as the favorite after leading Indiana to the No. 1 (13-0) seed at -2500. Following Mendoza is Pavia at +1400, Love at +40,000, and Sayin at +50,000. The committee will vote to invite four finalists, and the winner will be announced during the “Heisman Trophy Ceremony” held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
Indiana’s dream season wouldn’t have been possible if not for the efforts of Mendoza, who led the Big Ten with 33 touchdown passes, 2,980 yards, and just 6 interceptions. The Hoosiers beat Ohio State on Saturday in the Big Ten conference championship game, 13-10. Sayin and the Buckeyes are the No. 2 seed in the 2025 CFP. Sayin passed for 31 touchdowns, 3,329 yards, and 6 interceptions.
Despite not making the playoffs at 10-2, Pavia completed a great season for Vanderbilt, passing for 3,192 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. Notre Dame may have been the most controversial snub by the CFP, especially after the year Love had running the ball. The junior running back rushed for 1,372 yards, 18 touchdowns, and averaged nearly 7 yards per carry.
All the drama will unfold this evening before Monday Night Football on ESPN.
