The winner of the Sugar Bowl between the No. 3 seed Georgia Bulldogs and No. 6 seed Ole Miss Rebels will face one of the most interesting stories of the College Football Playoff. The Miami Hurricanes won their playoff quarterfinals game over national championship favorite Ohio State, 24-14, to advance to the Fiesta Bowl. The Hurricanes and former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck await the winner of the Georgia-Ole Miss game.
Miami’s defense and line of scrimmage plays has looked dominant this postseason. The Hurricanes were the last at-large team to make the playoff, but are more than worthy of being in the field. Miami won, 10-3, over Texas A&M in the first-round of the playoff. The Hurricanes have two of the best edge rushers in college football.
The Sugar Bowl is at 8 p.m. ET on New Year’s Day and is the last of the playoff quarterfinal games. The Georgia-Ole Miss game will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2.
Who will Georgia-Ole Miss winner play?
The winner of the Sugar Bowl will play in the Fiesta Bowl against the Miami Hurricanes with a chance to advance to the national championship. Miami quarterback Carson Beck is a Georgia transfer, so if UGA plays Miami, then that would be a very interesting storyline.
