Vero Beach football‘s state championship opponent is set.

The Fighting Indians (14-0) will face Lake Mary (11-3) in the Class 7A state championship game at Florida International University’s Pitbull Stadium in Miami on Saturday, Dec. 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Vero Beach punched its ticket to the state championship game with a 45-44 double overtime victory over Miami Palmetto on Friday, Dec. 5. Lake Mary defeated Venice 31-26 in the night’s other semifinal.

Lake Mary is the reigning Class 7A state runner-up after losing 52-19 to Venice in last year’s championship game at Pitbull Stadium. It was Lake Mary’s best-ever finish in the FHSAA playoffs.

The Fighting Indians will be making the program’s first state championship game appearance since 1981, when Vero Beach won its only state championship.

Tickets will be available exclusively through GoFan. Admission will cost $17 per game with advance purchase and $20 with day of purchase at the main gate.
