Florida football sophomore linebacker Aaron Chiles moonlighted on offense on a play that resulted in a touchdown during UF's 34-24 loss at Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-3, 244-pound Chiles served as a lead blocking back for Florida Gators' running back Jadan Baugh on his 2-yard TD run in the second quarter against the Rebels.

“In practice, we installed this little package where I go fullback," Chiles said. "So, I guess, hey, finally, we called the play in the game and I was ready when the time came. But you know, I'm just willing to do anything to help the team win."

Chiles said it was his first time lining up on the offensive side since middle school, as he only played defense during his years at Our Lady of Good Counsel HS in Largo, Md.

"It felt great," Chiles said. "I haven't really got to experience offense and what it was like to score, so being able to, you know, hear the crowd go crazy and able to celebrate with my guys, it was just amazing.”

A former Under Armour All-American, Chiles has emerged as a valuable player on the defensive side of the ball for UF as well with 37 tackles. 1.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, one pass breakup and one forced fumble. Chiles played in the same Under Armour All-American game with Florida sophomore linebacker Myles Graham, who has posted a team-high 60 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack.

"We're just pushing ourselves to reach each other's full potential," Chiles said. "Coming up these next couple years we're looking to make some special happen.”
