Wide Receiver Recruit Majay Thompson Impressed by Georgia During Spring Game Visit

The Georgia Bulldogs held their annual spring game on April 18. It’s an important piece to the offseason as the team begins to ramp up in preparation for the 2026 college football season. However, it’s also crucial to the Bulldogs’ recruiting efforts.

Wide receiver Majay Thompson made his way to Athens for a visit during Georgia’s spring game. It was his first time on campus, allowing Kirby Smart and his staff to make a strong impression.

He has emerged as a priority for the coaching staff. At 6-foot-0 and 186 pounds, he is a three-star recruit, the no. 108 wide receiver and the No. 757 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings.

Thompson, who has official visits scheduled with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (May 29), Duke Blue Devils (June 5), Alabama Crimson Tide (June 12) and Michigan State Spartans (June 19), came away impressed.

“I took my first visit to Georgia for their spring game, and it was great,” he said, according to Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “Just sitting in meetings, talking with the coaches… seeing how they do things day-to-day — a lot at Georgia stood out. It is a top program with a great atmosphere.”

The Shelby, North Carolina native, is coming off a solid junior season at Crest High School. In 15 games, he hauled in 53 receptions for 865 yards and 13 touchdowns, showcasing strong production.

While Georgia has planted itself firmly in the mix for his commitment, it faces strong competition. Thompson told Simmons that the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide are “up at the top” of his list.

With summer approaching, the wide receiver is getting ready to take his official visit. The Bulldogs getting him back on campus will be crucial to their chances of landing his commitment.
