Chris McIntosh is intimately familiar with the Big Ten Conference, having seen it through the lens of a player and administrator. McIntosh will now officially work for the conference, becoming its deputy commissioner for strategy.
He's leaving his post as athletic director of Wisconsin, a position he has held since 2021. McIntosh worked as an associate athletic director for the Badgers in 2014 and was named deputy athletic director in 2017 before assuming the main job after Barry Alvarez's departure.
"There is never a good time to leave an organization, especially one where I feel so connected and where there is more great work to be done. I was not searching for something new, as not only do I love the University of Wisconsin, I also believe the position of its Athletic Director is one of the best jobs in the country," McIntosh penned in a farewell letter to Wisconsin fans.
McIntosh played offensive tackle for the Badgers and won two Rose Bowls during his athletic career.
