Wisconsin Badgers vs. No. 23 Washington Huskies 2nd Half Game Thread: Any more QBs available?

We’ve got ourselves a ballgame. The Wisconsin Badgers trail 10-3 to the No. 23 Washington Huskies at halftime.

Wisconsin started the game with sophomore Danny O’Neil at quarterback on its first drive, but then pivoted to true freshman Carter Smith after the former was carted off with a leg injury following a 21-yard quarterback run.

Smith played a majority of the first half, with the Badgers pounding the option run. Wisconsin finished the first half with 120 rushing yards on 28 carries. Quarterbacks accounted for 61 of those yards.

Wisconsin did not complete a pass in the first half until the final two minutes, as Smith and O’Neil went 0/5 in the first half combined.

Then, the Badgers brought in Hunter Simmons at the end of the half, completing 2/3 passes for 16 yards.

The Badgers had several scoring opportunities, but had a turnover of downs inside the Washington five-yard line and also had a missed field goal on their opening drive.

Still, Wisconsin is firmly in this one, down only a touchdown due to a blocked punt.
