Wisconsin class of 2027 target, linebacker Blake Betton, committed to Penn State on Saturday.
Betton chose the Nittany Lions over the Badgers, Michigan Wolverines, Minnesota Golden Gophers and Missouri Tigers.
247Sports lists the Shakopee, Minnesota, native as a three-star recruit. He's specifically ranked as the No. 417 player in the class, the No. 35 linebacker and the No. 4 recruit from his home state. He joins a Penn State class that now sits No. 23 in the nation and No. 9 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin, notably, sits at No. 11 in the nation and No. 4 in the conference.
The Badgers have found early success in the 2027 cycle, already landing commitments from eight in-state players. Four-star recruits Cole Reiter, Korz Loken and Kingston Allen headline that list.

Wisconsin is set to pick up its high school recruiting efforts over the ensuing months. Even with Betton headed elsewhere, the program is already in a strong position to improve on its disappointing finish to the 2026 cycle.
