Wisconsin football is considered ‘in the mix’ for UAB transfer wide receiver Iverson Hooks, according to On3/Rivals’ Pete Nakos.
The news arrives following Hooks' decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 26. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound pass-catcher logged 72 receptions for 927 yards and seven scores through the air in 2025, enough to earn him an All-AAC nod.
Hooks, as expected, has drawn interest from a bevy of NCAA Division I programs across the country. Wisconsin is unlikely to be his only Power Four suitor as his transfer process continues. As of Dec. 30, 247Sports considers the wide receiver a three-star transfer talent. Coming out of high school, he was the No. 179 overall athlete and No. 83-ranked recruit from his home state of Alabama for the class of 2022.
UAB transfer wide receiver Iverson Hooks is receiving early interest from a range of SEC, Big Ten, ACC and Big 12 schools, his rep @WeGetYouOffers tells @On3sports. https://t.co/MbYBFyqJXohttps://t.co/R7TofxFZj2pic.twitter.com/lEwyBuZ19H

Considering the transfer departures of former Wisconsin wide receivers Eugene Hilton, Trech Kekahuna, Kyan Berry-Johnson and Joseph Griffin, the Badgers' interest in Hooks makes sense. As of Dec. 30, Chris Brooks Jr. and Tyrell Henry headline UW's wide receiver room ahead of the 2026 slate.
Hooks' transfer status is one to monitor in the coming weeks.
