Wisconsin landed a commitment from Illinois State transfer defensive lineman Jake Anderson on Friday.

Anderson entered the transfer portal earlier this month after four years with the Redbirds. He originally joined the program as a two-star recruit in the class of 2022, ranked specifically as the No. 317 defensive lineman in the class. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2022, the Durand, Illinois, native played a significant role on the team’s defensive line over the next three seasons. He finished his Illinois State career with 139 total tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble, one interception and two pass deflections.

The veteran defensive lineman does not have a transfer ranking from 247Sports. He’ll join the Badgers with a final year of eligibility remaining.

Anderson is Wisconsin’s 23rd transfer commitment since the cycle began earlier this month. Several of those additions are along the defensive front, including West Virginia defensive tackle Hammond Russell, Arkansas edge rusher Justus Boone and Buffalo defensive tackle Junior Poyser. That group should factor into the team’s two-deep in 2026, as several of the team’s veteran starters along the defensive line exhausted their eligibility in 2025.
