Three-star linebacker Aden Reeder decommitted from Wisconsin’s class of 2026 on Monday night.

Reeder is the second notable prospect to walk back his pledge to the program over the last month, following wide receiver Tayshon Bardo. The linebacker committed to the Badgers back in May, choosing the program over top contenders Iowa and Michigan State. Notably, Reeder picked up offers from Northwestern, Michigan and Kentucky in late October, just as Wisconsin’s 2025 season took a turn for the worse.

“I want to start by expressing my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible opportunity to pursue my dream of playing football at the next level,” Reeder said in a statement on X. “After much thought and reflection, I have made the difficult decision to decommit from the University of Wisconsin. This choice was not easy for me. I genuinely want to thank the Badger coaches and staff for all the time, effort, and support you’ve given me throughout the recruiting process. Coach (Luke) Fickell, Coach (Mike) Tressel and Coach (Tuf) Borland, thank you. I truly enjoyed my visits and the chance to get to know each of you and learn about the program. Your dedication and passion have made a lasting impression on me. Thank you once again for everything. I will always hold my experiences with the Badgers close to my heart.”

247Sports ranks Reeder as the No. 555 overall player in the class, the No. 40 linebacker and the No. 27 recruit from his home state of Ohio. His decommitment leaves Wisconsin’s class of 2026 with just 14 commitments. That group now ranks No. 62 nationally and No. 16 in the Big Ten.
