Wisconsin football extended an offer to class of 2028 defensive lineman Hendrix Dawson on Monday.
Dawson, a 6-foot-3 1/2, 255-pound tackle, is 247Sports' composite ranking's No. 1-ranked recruit from Wisconsin for the class of 2028. As of Dec. 30, he has received offers from Wisconsin, Maryland and Minnesota.
The Wisconsin Dells High School product was a standout during Wisconsin football's summer camp slate, and he now adds an offer from UW to his recruiting profile as a sophomore. As a freshman, he burst onto the scene with 54 total tackles (24 solo), four tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks in nine games played, per WisSports.net.
Considering Dawson's age and stage of his recruiting process, neither 247Sports nor On3/Rivals have released predictions regarding his potential landing spot. Wisconsin's decision to enter his recruiting race early, however, is promising considering his in-state ties.
After a great conversation with @CoachWhit_UW I am honored to receive an offer from @BadgerFootball. #OnWisconsinpic.twitter.com/NFjB0pbMyW

While UW's class of 2028 offer sheet doesn't include many names, its class of 2026 includes 14 athletes who have signed their letters of intent. Headlined by wide receiver Keeyshawn Tabuteau, running back Qwantavius Wiggins and offensive tackle Brady Bekkenhius, the class ranks No. 71 in the country and No. 16 in an 18-team Big Ten conference.
