One commitment made a huge difference, as the Wisconsin Badgers class of 2027 jumped from No. 14 to No. 9 in the national rankings.

Head coach Luke Fickell has had his eyes on four-star running back Kingston Allen for quite some time. Finally, he was able to secure his commitment on April 3.

Allen posted, “Blessed to make the commitment to the University of Wisconsin Madison!!! Staying home.”

Wisconsin jumped to the top 15 of 247Sports’ national rankings when Hunter and Reece Mallinger committed earlier in the week. Now, the program has found its way into the top 10.

The Badgers leapfrogged the likes of Clemson, Miami, Texas, Nebraska, and Texas Tech after Allen announced his commitment. Now, the only Big Ten teams ahead of the Badgers are Washington, USC, and Ohio State.

It should be noted that it’s still quite early in the recruiting cycle, but Wisconsin is a perfect eight for eight when it comes to landing in-state players. Currently, the program has commitments from a running back, tight end, EDGE, safety, and four offensive linemen.
