Wisconsin starting defensive back Geimere Latimer plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3/Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Latimer, who transferred to Wisconsin from Jacksonville State ahead of the 2025 campaign, logged 23 total tackles, 15 solo tackles and a forced fumble in UW’s defensive backfield this season. At Jacksonville State, he registered 56 total tackles and four interceptions across 27 appearances from 2023-24.
Latimer’s most impressive individual contest with the Badgers arrived in the team’s Nov. 21 victory over the Illinois Fighting Illini, a game during which he notched four tackles and forced a fumble. Flashes of defensive savvy would have likely propelled Latimer into a larger role in Wisconsin’s defensive backfield, but he will now look for an opportunity elsewhere.

Notably, Latimer is the older brother of Wisconsin former class of 2026 commit running back Amari Latimer, who flipped his commitment from Luke Fickell’s program to West Virginia on National Signing Day.
Latimer joins several former Badgers who intend to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2. The most notable include linebacker Antarron Turner, linebacker Christian Alliegro, linebacker Tackett Curtis, center Jake Renfro, wide receiver Trech Kekahuna, wide receiver Joseph Griffin Jr., running back Cade Yacamelli and punter Atticus Bertrams.
