Wisconsin’s Tyrell Henry breaks single-game reception record in Week 3

Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Tyrell Henry made history Saturday afternoon, setting a new program record for receptions in a single game during the Badgers’ 54-10 victory over Eastern Michigan.

Henry hauled in 14 receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown, surpassing Matt Nyquist’s previous school record of 13 catches, which had stood since 1995.

The performance was a breakout moment for Henry, who entered the season having recorded just six receptions for Wisconsin over the previous two seasons. Through three games this year, he now has 22 receptions for 293 yards.

Henry’s touchdown came on a 13-yard connection from quarterback Colton Joseph during Wisconsin’s explosive second quarter. The Badgers scored 28 points in the second quarter and took a 31-7 lead into halftime.

Joseph also had an amazing afternoon, throwing for 362 yards and accounting for four total touchdowns as Wisconsin improved to 2-1.

The Badgers will now turn their attention toward Big Ten play. Wisconsin travels to face Penn State next Saturday, Sept. 26, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. CT on Peacock.
