With everything that’s going on in the college football world, it’s almost hard to remember the College Football Playoffs begin next week!

Amidst what’s going on in Ann Arbor, and his name seemingly getting thrown around social media like it’s a clear certainty, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has his eyes set on Oklahoma.

The program that came onto Saban Field, defeated the Crimson Tide, and made sure to take a picture near the Alabama logo in an empty Bryant-Denny Stadium to celebrate the win.

And everyone is worried about Michigan?

There’s plenty of fish in the sea, and DeBoer’s already been a target for Penn State, and vehemently shut it down. So, do we need to do this a second time in the span of two months?

Even though DeBoer hasn’t addressed it, since it’s still a fairly fresh wound for Wolverine fans, one has to imagine that there’s more important things to worry about, no?

His team has grinded it out in the last few weeks of the college football season, but Alabama still has a chance to silence everyone who thought Notre Dame was the better option to get selected into the playoffs.

Since Week 1, it’s been a roller coaster of a season. From a terrible loss at Florida State, to a run that you rarely see in college football.

The Tide handed SEC Champion Georgia their only loss of the season in Athens, then went on to defeat three more ranked opponents in a row. So sure, the Week 1 loss, and then getting blown out in the SEC Championships didn’t help the cause, but it was the overall body of work.

Alabama was handed a cold dose of reality after Week 1, but instead of letting that determine the season, the Tide let the rest of the season pan out.

So want to talk about adversity? ‘Tis merely a scratch compared to what this team has been through, and they know it.

"That's helped us be in the hunt to where we're at right now. Now, we got to have the execution be a little bit better," DeBoer told 247Sports. "That depth we created has allowed it to not fall apart at times during the season. Now, we got to use it to be a strength to go and mesh it all together and execute at an even higher level."

Just give this team some breathing room, and watch what it could do.

Tight end Josh Cuevas may be back, and maybe running back Jam Miller. And EDGE rusher LT Overton will be back too.

Don’t be mistaken, Oklahoma and coach Brett Venables have proven to be DeBoer’s kryptonite. Two games, two losses, and the one that was played in Norman, was a total blowout.

That game wasn’t in the Playoffs. It may have held substantial consequences, but it wasn’t the playoffs.

The majority is doubting this team, but welcome to familiar territory. They were just saying that DeBoer wasn’t making it past September after Week 1.

Now look where we are.
