Oklahoma State received encouraging news ahead of Saturday's Big 12 showdown with UCF, and the Cowboys have revealed what they'll be wearing for their return to Boone Pickens Stadium.

Wide receiver Wyatt Young says he expects to play against the Knights after appearing as questionable on the team's initial availability report earlier this week.

Young addressed his status during the Eric Morris Show, offering a positive update ahead of Oklahoma State's first home conference game of the season.

“I'm feeling great,” Young told Cowboy Radio Network play-by-play announcer Dave Hunziker. “I'm excited to play on Saturday.”

The update comes as No. 18 Oklahoma State (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) prepares to host UCF (3-2, 1-1) at 11 a.m. CT Saturday on ESPN2.

Young Provides Encouraging Injury Update

Young has emerged as one of the Cowboys' most productive offensive weapons through four games.

The wide receiver leads Oklahoma State with 22 receptions for 410 yards and three touchdowns, including two performances exceeding 100 receiving yards against Oregon and West Virginia.

His most recent outing was his best yet. Young caught eight passes for 192 yards and a touchdown in Oklahoma State's 41-24 victory over West Virginia on September 26.

However, his appearance on the initial availability report raised questions about whether he would be ready for Saturday's matchup.

Head coach Eric Morris also expressed optimism about Young's status during his weekly radio show.

“Wyatt had a good day,” Morris said. “He's just been a little bit banged up here of late, but somebody that practiced well today. So, I think he should be full force come Saturday.”

While Young's comments suggest he expects to play, his official game-day availability remains subject to the team's final injury designation.

Offensive Line Health Also Worth Monitoring

Young isn't the only offensive starter whose health has been a concern. Starting offensive guard Johnny Dickson was also listed as questionable on Oklahoma State's initial availability report.

Morris said Dickson has practiced intermittently throughout the week, but the Cowboys could receive additional offensive line depth with Braydon Nelson returning.

“Johnny has practiced on and off throughout the course of this week,” Morris said. “We're getting Braydon Nelson back, so we do have some depth returning.”

Nelson transferred from North Texas, where he logged more than 1,800 offensive snaps over the previous two seasons. His appearance Saturday would mark his Oklahoma State debut.

Cowboys Unveil Orange-Black-Orange Uniforms

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State is embracing Saturday's Stripe the Stadium theme with a matching uniform combination.

The Cowboys unveiled an orange-black-orange look featuring orange helmets, black jerseys and orange pants. The helmets will feature the popular cursive “Pokes” script.'

It marks the first time Oklahoma State has worn the orange-black-orange combination since its 2016 victory over Iowa State.

The Cowboys have a 2-1 record in the combination since 2011, previously wearing it in a 2014 Cactus Bowl victory over Washington and a 2015 loss to Baylor.

The cursive helmet decal is also making a rare appearance, having previously been used against Cincinnati last season. UCF will counter with gold helmets, white jerseys and white pants.

Saturday's matchup is officially sold out, with fans encouraged to wear orange or black depending on their seating sections to create the Stripe the Stadium effect throughout Boone Pickens Stadium.

Cowboys Looking to Stay Unbeaten in Big 12 Play

Oklahoma State enters Saturday riding a three-game winning streak following victories over Oregon, Murray State and West Virginia.

The Cowboys are also looking for their first victory against UCF after losing the previous two meetings between the programs.

With Young expecting to be available and a sold-out crowd awaiting the team's return to Stillwater, Oklahoma State will look to carry its offensive momentum into another important conference matchup.
