Though much of the post-Kyle Whittingham hire and transfer portal noise has quieted, there's still some movement happening, particularly on the 2026 recruiting class front.

On Sunday, Whittingham managed to add a legacy linebacker, as 2026 Argyle (Tx.) Liberty Christian unranked linebacker Ndi Etta, the younger brother of Michigan football defensive tackle Enow Etta, committed to the Wolverines.

Etta joins Aden Reeder, Kaden Catchings, and Markel Dabney as linebackers in the 2026 recruiting class.

Etta made his decision on Sunday afternoon. He also had offers from UTEP, Miami (Ohio), Austin Peay, Toledo, Sacramento State, Army, and Tennessee State.

He is listed at 6-foot-1, 215 pounds. Here is some intel from Maize & Blue Review's Trevor McCue:

Etta put together an impressive final year at Liberty Christian, finishing with 68 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks. He also added four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and more than 20 quarterback pressures, showing an ability to impact games in multiple ways. While he has been recruited primarily as a linebacker, his frame and production off the edge leave the door open for a potential move to defensive end at the college level.

Etta is one of several legacies to come through Ann Arbor recently, with several brother groups (like the Bredesons or Kendrick Bell following Ronnie Bell) having come through, as well as sons following in their father's footsteps (currently, Blake Frazier rings a bell).
