FanDuel has odds for the win totals of all SEC teams. Some seem high, others low, but a few are just about right, as Goldilocks is apt to say. Alabama’s total has been set at 8.5. Without being too much of a Gump, 8 victories seems low.
Let’s take a look at the schedule and see how Vegas might have come to these assumptions.
Sat, Sep 5 vs East Carolina 11am/noon ABC
FanDuel has Alabama as a 28.5 point favorite. The Pirates have a good young coach and had a nice 9-4 campaign in 2025. But they lost several of their best players to the transfer portal. There is not much reason to think this one will end in a Bama defeat.
Sat, Sep 12 @ Kentucky 2:30/3:30 ABC
The first road game of the season for the Crimson Tide takes them up north to Lexington. The ‘Cats are facing a major overhaul with a new coaching staff led by a first-time head coach. QB Kenny Minchey received a ton of hype when he arrived at Notre Dame in 2023 but he just couldn’t win the starting job. Now, he is being asked to navigate SEC waters. It is unlikely UK pulls the upset here.
UK win total: 4.5
Sat, Sep 19 vs Florida State 2:30/3:30 ABC
This time a year ago, most of the nation thought this was a slam dunk win for the Crimson Tide. This year, the rematch is in Tuscaloosa, and again, most folks think Bama will win this one. It would be hard to imagine that a lot of returning Alabama players don’t have this one circled on the calendar as “unfinished business”. Last fall, FSU OC Gus Malzahn spent the entire 2025 off-season planning for the Tide and then mailed in the rest of the season. He has since hung up his whistle. Being that this game is in Bryant-Denny and being the third game of the season instead of the first, the home team will be ready to right this wrong.
FSU win total: 5.5
Sat, Sep 26 vs South Carolina (Night game)
The Gamecocks are a box of chocolates. What kind of team will roll into T-town? Over his career, QB LaNorris Sellers has been mentioned as a NFL first round pick. But he has been inconsistent and downright disappointing at times. They have a decent team in Columbia but winning in Bryant-Denny at night will be a tough row to hoe.
SC win total: 6.5
Sat, Oct 3 @ Mississippi State (Early kickoff)
The Bullies might be the best college football team with a losing record this year. The schedule is a tough one, including a four-game stretch of vs Alabama, @ LSU, vs Oklahoma, @ Texas. I have them losing all four.
MSU win total: 4.5
Sat, Oct 10 vs Georgia (Night game)
One of the biggest games of the year will take place on Nick Saban Field against little Kirby Smart who is 2-7 against Alabama. Most of the sports media are picking the Bulldogs to win this match, but winning on the road is not going to be a walk in the park. The Tide will be looking for revenge for their facplant in the SEC Championship Game played in Atlanta.
UGA win total: 10.5
Sat, Oct 17 @ Tennessee (Flex time – midday or night)
The Volunteers won eight games last year but it was a rather meh season. Jim Knowles will help improve the defense at the new defensive coordinator. RB DeSean Bishop is back but the choices at quarterback are pretty awful. It is a little surprising that UT did not go portal shopping for a better signal caller. Prep for a letdown season for the Vols.
Tenn win total: 7.5
Sat, Oct 24 vs Texas A&M (Flex)
Bama chose the Aggies for their Homecoming game, which could be motivation for the away team. However, this bunch does not look like the type to upset someone on the road. Home sweet home again.
TAMU win total: 8.5
Sat, Oct 31 bye
After three straight against Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas A&M, this off-week is good timing for the Tide.
Sat, Nov 7 @ LSU (Flex)
This one will be a big hype game for sure. Game of the Century XVI! Kiffin vs the school that did not want to hire him. This one could be a tough one for Alabama to pull off. On paper, the Tigers have a good team, but who knows what they will be come November. The Crimson Tide has often played well in Baton Rogue, so it might be a toss up.
LSU win total: 8.5
Sat, Nov 14 @ Vanderbilt (Early kickoff)
Unless Diego Pavia rolls back into Nashville (nothing surprises me anymore), there is not much chance of the Commodores making any noise in the SEC this season. This game is in their 40,350-seat facility but it is one of the less daunting atmospheres in Power-4 college football.
Vandy win total: 5.5
Sat, Nov 21 vs Chattanooga 1PM/2PM SEC+
Next.
Sat, Nov 28 vs Auburn (Flex)
2010. That is the last time that the Tigers have won the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa. At that time, the War Eagles were paying a laptop-stealing QB hundreds of thousands of dollars before it was allowed. This season, they have Byrum Brown behind center and he has not looked great in preseason. New head coach Alex Golesh has brought a lot of his USF players with him from Tampa including Brown, which could be a good thing but it’s no exactly a great thing. Auburn is not winning in T-town.
Auburn win total: 6.5
Wrap It Up
For the first time in a long while, Greg Sankey and the people in the SEC offices have finally given Alabama a break in the schedule. The Tide has road games at Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt. Bama also travels to Tennessee and LSU. The Vols are looking like they are heading to a setback year and who knows what the Bayou Bengals will be. Two of the Crimson Tide’s tougher match-ups, UGA and TAMU, are in the friendly confines of Bryant-Denny Stadium. FSU, South Carolina, and Auburn also have to travel to Tuscaloosa.
With a FanDuel win total of 8.5, it is hard to see the Crimson Tide going 8-4 or worse. Seems like easy money, but you tell me. Let us know your thoughts in Comments.
