Welcome to the 2026 Heisman Week Two poll. Did y’all see that Oklahoma State game? WOWZA! Great job, Cowboys. How about them Longhorns? OUCH, Ohio State!! We had some major movement this week. Arch Manning and CJ Carr made it BACK into our poll after missing out last week. To see all the movement from last week, check out the Week One poll. Again, a reminder that the Poll is weighted. The player gets five points for every first-place vote, four points for every second-place vote, three points for every third-place vote, and so on. Let’s get to it: our Week Two Heisman Poll.
2026 Heisman Week Two Poll
Honorable Mention, Drew Mestemaker, Quarterback, Oklahoma State
Drew Mestemaker gets the honorable mention spot this week. He led the Cowboys to a 39-31 win over the Oregon Ducks. Mestemaker pulled a play out of Fernando Mendoza’s playbook. With a little over 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Oregon is up 31-30. Mestemaker, on third and eight on the 10-yard line under pressure, scrambles out of the pocket. Mestemaker hurdles two defenders and dives into the end zone to put the Cowboys ahead 36-31. He finished the game with 317 passing yards, 109 rushing yards, and three touchdowns.

#5 Trinidad Chambliss, Quarterback, Ole Miss
Trinidad Chambliss dropped from number three to number five in our Heisman poll. Not that he didn’t have a great game on Saturday. He led the Rebels past the Charlotte 49ers 41-9 on Saturday night. The Rebels scored five times in the first six drives of the game. “Two touchdown passes and five scores in six drives. That sounds like Trinidad, doesn’t it?” Ole Miss coach Pete Golding said after the outstanding performance. So far this season, he has 561 passing yards and five touchdowns. This weekend the Bayou Bengals make the trip to Oxford. A lot is going on around the game, namely Lane Kiffin and his return to Ole Miss. This weekend should be a great game to watch.

#4 CJ Carr, Quarterback, Notre Dame
A 52-0 shutout of Rice got him enough votes to launch CJ Carr back into our top five. He threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns. In the third quarter, Carr’s backup Noah Grubbs took the hammer and finished nailing the coffin shut on the Owls. This season, Carr has 492 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions. This weekend he and the Irish will take on the Michigan State Spartans for the first time in nine years. Both teams enter the game 2-0; however, the Irish are favored by 29+ points. Carr should have no problem leading the Irish to their third victory of the season.

#3 Arch Manning, Quarterback, Texas
Arch Manning is back, and he has landed in the number three spot. The first half of the Texas / Ohio State game was abysmal for the Longhorns fans. Finally, in the fourth quarter, Manning kicked it into high gear. The Longhorns were trailing 23-3 going into the fourth. Manning put together three consecutive long touchdown drives to erase the 20-point deficit. The game-winning touchdown was scored by Hollywood Smothers with less than 30 seconds left. Manning finished the night with 23-of-37 for 195 yards and also rushed eight times for 24 yards. The comeback win placed Texas firmly in the number one spot.

#2 Jeremiah Smith, Wide Receiver, Ohio State
Jeremiah Smith had a great first half against Texas. He had six receptions, 110 yards, and one touchdown. In the second half, Smith only added two more receptions and 46 yards. He was reception-less the last 23 minutes of the game. This season, Smith has 16 receptions, 315 yards, and 3 touchdowns. The loss to Texas knocked Julian Sayin out of the the top five but has helped Smith’s Heisman stock by proving he can perform against an elite defense until that defense can figure out how to stop him. Saturday, Smith and the Buckeyes will host Kent State.

#1. Darian Mensah, Quarterback, University of Miami
Darian Mensah and the Miami Hurricanes blew out FAMU 77-7 last weekend. Helping Mensah rack up 252 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. Miami had 856 total yards against FAMU. So far, Mensah has 653 yards and 8 touchdowns. He is the clear frontrunner for the Heisman. The dynamic duo of Mensah and Malachi Toney should have a bigger challenge this weekend as they travel to Wake Forest for a Friday night game.
