The Oregon Ducks‘ defense, ranked No. 1 in passing yards allowed and No. 6 in points allowed through Week 11, received good news on Monday.
Ace Alston, a four-star cornerback in the 2027 class, released a list of his final ten schools on Monday. Oregon was included on the list alongside Notre Dame, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio State, Penn State, LSU and USC.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Alston is the 15th-highest rated cornerback in his class and the No. 2-ranked player in Ohio. He hails from Cincinnati and goes to Anderson High School.
Alston took his second visit with the Ducks earlier this year and took in spring ball action.
Speaking to On3 about his visit, he said “I got to sit down and talk with most of the staff, like the corners coach, Coach (Rashad) Wadood. He taught me a lot. He gave me a lot of nuggets and things I can improve on also. Another highlight when I went out to the practice, it was very electric, very aggressive. Just a practice you would want to go to every single day and get better. There was 5-stars everywhere.”

Alston isn’t wrong, as highly-rated players dot the Ducks‘ recent and future recruiting classes — especially at the cornerback position.
2025 four-star Brandon Finney Jr. quickly carved out a starting role in the Oregon secondary and has impressed greatly, with his coverage stats amongst the best in the country. Five-star Na’eem Offord and four-star Dorian Brew are awaiting opportunities themselves.
In 2026, the Ducks have secured the commitment of five-star Davon Benjamin and could stand to add more at that position next season through the transfer portal. Head coach Dan Lanning dipped into the portal prior to 2025, nabbing former Northwestern starter Theran Johnson and former Ole Miss starter Jadon Canady. Canady, in particular, has played a significant role on the outside.
Adding Alston to the mix come 2027 would provide the Ducks with more talent and depth at the cornerback position.
