2027 Knoxville safety commits to Clemson over Tennessee football

2027 four-star safety Jarrell Chandler committed to Clemson over Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Miami on Monday.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect is an in-state target from Halls High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. Rivals ranks him as the No. 29 safety in the class and No. 12 player in Tennessee.
Tennessee offered Chandler a scholarship on April 2, 2025. He has visited Tennessee five times and will officially visit the Vols on June 12.
Louisville was the first school to offer Chandler a scholarship on Sept. 7, 2024. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Kentucky, Western Kentucky, SMU, Arkansas, Tulane, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Wisconsin, Missouri, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Colorado, Florida State, Michigan, Florida, Memphis and Alabama.
Tennessee has seven commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman and defensive back Carter Jamison.
