We have reached another week into the Summer Scouting process, and that means we have wrapped up watching the top defensive linemen in the class heading into the Fall.

In total, I watched 13 defensive linemen and will be sharing some notes on the top 10. I will share all the names at the end, but when we discuss the top options of this running backs class, there are some top-end pieces for teams to target. The Summer is all about being positive with players, with some notes to keep in mind when we watch them in the Fall.

We have beaten around the bush enough, though, let’s show our rankings.

1) Ahmad Moten, Miami (FL)

Scouting Report

“Ahmad Moten is going to be the man to fill the role of disruptor on the Hurricanes’ defensive line with the departure of Rueben Bain Jr. to the NFL.”

2) A’Mauri Washington, Oregon

Scouting Report

“A’Mauri Washington is someone who can come into an NFL team’s defense and make a unit better. He can line up and find success on the inside or outside of the line, and he provides most of his help in the run game.”

3) A.J. Holmes, Texas Tech

Scouting Report

“A.J. Holmes is a game-wrecker, full stop. With Texas Tech, the play of Holmes in the middle allowed their edge rushers to create chaos. He can do the same thing in the NFL today if he were drafted.”

4) David Stone, Oklahoma

Scouting Report

“David Stone does not have a lot of production in the box score, but the film is hilarious to watch unfold for him. He sheds blockers with ease, he showcases his strength, and has leverage on most players he engages with.”

5) Justin Scott, Miami (FL)

Scouting Report

“The Miami Hurricanes’ defense is on another level in 2026, and that is after sending several big-time players to the NFL. In terms of where Scott settles into the unit, he is someone who is an interior pass rusher and disruptor.”

6) Will Echoles, Ole Miss

Scouting Report

“Echoles is a really run player to watch unfold when you look at the Ole Miss defense. He rushes the pass rusher consistently, gets stops for his unit, and can even bat passes at the line.”

7) C.J. Fite, Arizona State

Scouting Report

“C.J. Fite is a fun defensive line prospect who could have declared last cycle. He possesses good awareness, technique, and athleticism to be a fun piece on a defensive front in the NFL.”

8) Devan Thompkins, Alabama

Scouting Report

“Devan Thompkins is a tough study because there are times he blends in with the rest of the defensive line. However, on the flip side, he shows moments of brilliance, suggesting he could be a promising disruptor.”

9) Bear Alexander, Oregon

Scouting Report

“Bear Alexander is a well-known defender around college football, and he finally found someone to get the most out of him in Oregon in 2025. However, the tools Alexander has do not scream that he is going to be anything crazy in the NFL, but he could be a durable defensive lineman.”

10) Mario Landino, Indiana

Scouting Report

“Landino is a really fun defensive line prospect who has a lot of potential. That being said, he struggles to get much momentum going in terms of his consistency.”
