2028 four-star RB Micah Rhodes commits to Texas

Sark After Dark is back in session. While most of us were sleeping, the Texas Longhorns landed a commitment for their 2028 recruiting class.

Four-star Spring Klein Oak running back Micah Rhodes committed to Texas overnight giving the Longhorns their second commitment of the upcoming cycle. Rhodes was previously pledged to Oklahoma, but decommitted from the Sooners back in April.

This is a recruitment that had been trending towards the Longhorns for a bit, with Rivals recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong logging a Texas prediction last month.

Despite initially committing to Oklahoma, Rhodes’ family has ties to Texas with his grandfather Bobby Rhodes playing linebacker for the Longhorns back in the 1980s. Seems somewhat poetic for Rhodes to make his commitment to Texas the week of the Red River Rivalry game.

Rhodes joins quarterback Neimann Lawrence in the Longhorns’ 2028 recruiting class and gives them a nice offensive foundation to build off of moving forward. The Longhorns have become a consistent presence when it comes to churning out top-five recruiting classes and they are already off to a nice start in 2028.

A consensus four-star prospect, Rhodes is ranked as the No. 166 player nationally and the No. 12 running back in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
