Texas football has announced four changes to its future schedule, including next year's home game against the Michigan Wolverines. Thanks to the elimination of Week 0, the Longhorns are moving three games in 2027 and one game in 2028.

The games against Michigan, New Mexico State and UTEP have been moved in 2027. A visit from Louisiana Tech has been changed in 2028.

It was revealed this week that Michigan has moved its game with Eastern Michigan to the same date they were supposed to travel to Austin to fulfill the back-end of the Longhorns-Wolverines home-and-home.

With controversy surrounding how much weight the college football playoff committee gives strength of schedule, it was natural to think that the two were related.

Steve Sarkisian was asked about the change on Wednesday. While he didn't give details, he confirmed the two blue blood programs would still meet in 2027.

"I think the date might be changed," Sarkisian said. "I know we're playing Michigan. I just don't know exactly when."

The FBS Oversight Committee approved legislation last Friday that will move the calendar up one week so that all teams begin during the week that has previously served as Week 0. The move gives college football an extra full week in the spotlight before the NFL regular season begins.

Teams across the nation are altering their schedules to fill that new week in the college football calendar.
