MADISON – Wisconsin's run on the recruiting trail continued June. 3.
Mekhi Williams, a four-star defensive back from Florida, announced his commitment to the Badgers’ 2027 class. The announcement completed a busy week during which he also took an official visit to UW and announced his decommitment from Florida State.
Williams, who attends Lennard High School in Ruskin, chose the Badgers over LSU and Nebraska. He announced his decision during a streamed broadcast on CBS Sports College Football YouTube Channel.
Williams, who is 6-foot-2 and about 170 pounds, is considered a top 300 prospect nationally. 247sports rates him highest as the 107th player in the country followed by Rivals/On3 (180) and ESPN (271).
According to MaxPreps, Williams finished with 33 tackles, including 15 solos, with two interceptions and four passes defended last season.
He is the fourth player to commit to the Badgers this week raising the program’s 2027 recruiting class to 17 players.
