Indiana football keeps loading up for the future of its defensive line through the high school recruiting pipeline.
Reinaldo Perez, a defensive lineman in the class of 2027, announced his commitment to Indiana on Wednesday through On3/Rivals recruiting and transfer portal reporter Hayes Fawcett. He chose the Hoosiers over Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Virginia Tech, per Fawcett. He’s Indiana’s 10th commitment in the class and joins Michigan’s Myles Smith along the defensive line.
Indiana went right into Ohio State’s backyard for this one. Perez attends Columbus Academy in Columbus, Ohio. He’s rated as a 4-star by On3/Rivals, ranking in as the 19th highest-rated defensive lineman and 180th highest-rated prospect overall in the class. He’s rated as a 3-star by 247Sports, ranking in as the 40th highest-rated edge rusher in the class.
One way or another, it’s a get for a staff that’s shown it knows how to identify and develop talent, particularly in the trenches.
